The rate at which Christians want to be wealthy, drive big
cars, get promotions, even growth in faith, etc, all without working for it
is very alarming. The problem is that this issues are escalated on pulpits by
Ministers who are there ministering for their own pockets, not to the glory of
God. They tell people to have faith that money will come, prosperity will come
and all that. But they don’t stress on working hard to get the good things they
want in life.
Now am not saying God can’t do anything for us if we don’t
work for it. The fact is that God has given us everything thing we need to live
a better life.We want manna
just like the Israelites, who even after the manna, where still complaining.
We want something out of nothing; not even our faith
because faith will cause you to swing into action.
“For as
the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
James 2:26.
James 2:26 says it all. There is no way faith can be
alive without work. I don’t know why Christians has been reduced to this:
people who are just interested in solutions to their problem without working
towards making things right. It has turned the church to a place meant for
people who have problems. It has led the people going after shadows and not the
substance. It has led to people seeking only for solutions and not being
interested on who gives the solution (i.e. God). It has turned Christians to be
people that will only be remembered when it is time for prayers alone, but they wont be called upon when important decisions are being taken.
The truth is that God does not deal with people who are not
ready to work. That is why some of the people He used were called when they
were working. When God sent the prophet Samuel to go and anoint a King in the
house of Jesse, all of Jesse’s sons where in their father's house but God went to the bush
to pick up that little boy called David and made him king. When God called
Moses, he was looking after the flock of his father-in-law. Gideon was
threshing wheat in the winepress when God called him.
Where are you now? Can God call? Can God use you? The bible
said; He will bless the works of our hand. What work are you doing? And can God
bless you through that work? No matter what you are doing, no matter how small
it is, God can bless you from that. Just have faith in Him and work towards
achieving your goals in life. Swing into action by your faith and see how different your life will be.
